Sparkling Rings Coming Up In Our November Sale

We have started to catalogue the items entered into our 19th & 20th November auction sale.
Over the next few weeks we will show you a sample of the lots coming up for sale.
If you like our blogs please follow us using BlogLovin'

There will be hundreds of items in our gold, silver and costume jewellery sections.
We always have a range of antique, vintage and modern styles including
rings, earrings, necklaces, brooches, pendants and watches.
There will be something to suit every style and fit every budget!

Here is a small selection of the sparkling rings coming up in our auction sale on 19th November.

This pretty cluster ring comprises CZs and sapphires set in 9ct yellow gold.

This will add some sparkle to any outfit,
its perfect for a wannabe diva who doesnt have a big budget to blow!
This ring wont break the bank, its estimated at a bargain price of £50 to £70

One of our personal favourites is this beautiful vintage diamond cluster ring.

The old-cut stones are set in 18ct white gold.  It would make the perfect engagement ring.
On the high street this ring could cost anywhere between £3000 and £5000
but at auction we estimate it will sell for between £400 and £500.

You get far more for your money by buying diamond jewellery at auction,
or as a colleague put it 'more bling for your buck'!
If you dont believe us check our prices realised and compare them to the high street prices

A more unusual ring is this conical cluster ring of 31 round cut mid-blue sapphires in tiered setting
above an 18ct yellow gold spoke style gallery with curved edges.
This ring will stand out and cause a sensation.
We estimate this at £100 to £140.

Big bold 80's fashion has become popular again and this ladies modernist-style wide band
will suit a fashionista looking to portray this style.
This 14ct gold ring with an ornate textured finish has an elongated ‘S’ frond in the centre
set with small diamonds.
This modernist ring is estimated £150 to £200.

The online catalogue for our auction on 19th & 20th November
will be on our website from 30th October.

Kelly Clarkson’s Jane Austen Ring - The Saga Continues...

Kelly Clarkson: season one winner of American Idol and award winning singer purchased a turquoise and gold ring in 2012 that had belonged to British novelist Jane Austen.  This has caused quite a controversy.

The ring is only one of three known pieces of jewellery to have belonged to the novelist.  The British Government placed an export ban on the ring due to it’s “historic importance” describing it as a “national treasure”.

If a British buyer has not matched the £152,450 price that Clarkson paid at auction house Sothebys by the end of September 2013, an export license may be granted.  If the export license is refused and the ring has to stay in England, Clarkson's fiance Brandon Blackstock has already had a replica ring made for her - how romantic and thoughtful.

The Jane Austen House Museum has been trying to raise funds to make sure the ring stays in England.

Will a UK buyer match or beat the price that Clarkson paid and keep the ring in England?  Or will it be exported to the USA and leave Britain for good?

August 2013 Auction Prices Realised: Collectables Edition

For our final part of our August 2013 auction prices realised, we bring you a selection of collectable items that were in our sale.
Missed our last prices realised post? Click HERE to view it.

We mentioned our first edition Beatles album lot HERE; we were estimating this at £80-£120, but on the day achieved just over estimate at £155.

The vintage Star Trek figures mention in THIS post here were estimated at £45-£65, however after a long battle and two very determined bidders, the lot sold in the end for £230, way over estimate!

Star Wars Figures

More vintage figures, these being from Star Wars; these also went for higher than their estimate of £40-£60, selling at £105 - again, two very keen bidders!

We mentioned this gorgeous antique postcard collection in THIS post. It comprises a mixture of early topographical, glamour, comic and greetings cards, plus some photographs from around 1900 and postcards of local areas. We estimated this at £160-£220, however in our auction sold for higher than this estimate at £250.

Also mentioned in a blog post on here is the final lot of the August sale, which is the Manchester United football programme from the 1937-38 season. This was mentioned HERE along with two more Manchester United lots. Our estimate for this was £120-£160, which it sold for slightly above estimate at £125.

Diecast Toys
Estimate £30-£50
Sold for £280
And finally, these Diecast toys sold for over three times their highest estimate - they sold for a whopping £280, well above its £30-£50 estimate.
